Postgres Plus Advanced Server is a lightning fast and massively scalable database management system. In addition to major performance improvements built into PostgreSQL 8.3, Postgres Plus contains the following performance and scalability features:

• Dynamic Tuning (DynaTune^TM) with Workload Profiling to continuously tune Postgres Plus Advanced Server based on both hardware and application profiles
• Real-time performance instrumentation and statistical analysis
• DBA Monitoring Console to allow for detailed visibility into the server's usage of CPU, memory and I/O
• Integrated Connection Management that makes efficient use of existing, open connections to the database server thus reducing overhead and improving system throughput
• In-Memory Distributed Caching Layer that enables a massive grid of memory cache distributed across multiple servers and abstracted from the database

Postgres Plus Advanced Server also includes Oracle-style performance enhancements that not only enable compatibility for Oracle applications, but also dramatically improve overall performance including:

• Bulk array operations to enable the grouping of like data for mass updates or retrieval
