Postgres Plus Advanced Server Implementation, Management, and Tuning
Postgres Plus Advanced Server is built on PostgreSQL and adds Oracle compatibility, advanced tools, and increased performance. This 3-day course teaches you how to install, tune, and develop enterprise-class applications on Postgres Plus Advanced Server. There are hands-on exercises throughout the course on all topics, including Oracle compatibility and migration from other databases.
Course Description
This three-day course is ideally suited for DBAs and developers. It covers the fundamental concepts and skills needed to install the database, configure it, and perform day-to-day database and management. Both theoretical and practical topics are covered, including:
- Installation, monitoring, and performance tuning
- Managing backup and recovery procedures
- Strategies for high availability
- Understanding table spaces and partitioning
- Hands-on experience with procedural languages
- Using the SQL Primer to create queries
